Lateral Transfer within the Institution

Application Place and Time

Applications will be made to the Student Affairs Directorate on Büyükçekmece Campus of our University between August 2 and 20, 2010. No applications will be accepted after this date and applications with missing documents will not be accepted. (Applications via mail will be disregarded)

Conditions

1. A lateral transfer cannot be made to prep class, the first two semesters and the last semester of associate degree programs, or the first and last two semesters of an undergraduate degree program.
2. For those who want to make a lateral transfer between two programs that admit students with different score types from the central placement test, the score they get in the score type required by the department they want to transfer to must not be less than the lowest minimum placement score of the equivalent programs among the other universities in the country for the year the student took the central placement test.
3. Students who have been enrolled in an undergraduate degree program through DGS (Vertical Transfer exam) and have failed the adjustment cannot apply for lateral transfer
4. Evening education students cannot make a lateral transfer to mainstream formal education programs from evening education programs. However, on condition that these students succeed in all of their lessons in their programs, except those in prep class, and pass to an upper class taking part in top 10% success ranking, they can make a lateral transfer within the limitations of quota and by meeting the minimum grade point average requirement and accepting to continue to pay the tuition required for the evening education programs.
5. A lateral transfer from the mainstream formal education can be made to evening education. These lateral transfers also are subject to the provisions of the regulations of mainstream formal education. However, these students are required to pay the tuitions asked for evening education.

Evaluation of The Applications

1. Applications will be evaluated by a commission to be formed by the deanery or directorates regarded and finalized by the Boards of the Faculties, Schools or Vocational Schools.
2. Ranking of the candidates whose applications are accepted are ranked by their grade point average they have got from the institution they want to transfer
   a) On condition that the applications exceed the quota defined by the faculty or the vocational school to admit students through lateral transfer, these rankings will be used. Starting from the top ranking student a number of students defined by the quota are announced in the main list and equal number of students are announced as a reserves list. 
   b) If there are more applications than the quota and some students have equal grade point averages, these students are ranked in accordance with their central placement test scores
   c) If these students still have equal scores, the Faculty, School or Vocational School Board regarded decides on the students to be admitted to the program.

2. Receipt of Lateral Transfer Application (50 TL.) The fee will be paid to the Bank Asya Branch on our Büyükçekmece Campus or to following account: Bankasya Güneşli Şubesi 6–7543–417 (IBAN: TR43 0020 8000 0600 0075 4304 17)

Registration Dates

Applications must be made, without any documents missing, to the Student Affairs Directorate on Büyükçekmece Campus of our University between August 2 and 20, 2010.
